What are cookies?

Cookies are small data files that are downloaded onto your device by the website or app you are visiting. The next time you visit the same website or app, cookies ensure that your device is recognized. By using cookies and similar technologies, such as pixel tags/beacons and scripts (“cookies”), websites can save information about visits and its visitors. Such information may include your IP address, the device you use and click behavior, such as the specific web pages you visit and how you navigate the website.

What type of cookies do we use and how do we use them?

Subject to your consent, where applicable, we may use both session cookies, which expire once you close your web browser, and persistent cookies, which stay on your computer or mobile device until you delete them. We place some of the cookies ourselves (“first-party cookies”), while other cookies are placed by third parties (“third-party cookies”). This means that when you use our Services, third parties will also collect information from your browser and your devices (see below for further information).

Our Services use the following types of cookies for the purposes set out below:

  1. Essential Cookies

These cookies are essential to provide you with Services available through our Site or App and to enable you to use some of its features. For example, they allow you to log in to secure areas of our Services and help the content of the pages you request load quickly. Without these cookies, our Services may not work properly, and you may not be able to use all its features.

  1. Functional Cookies

We use these cookies to remember the choices you make when using our Services, such as remembering your login details and the changes you make to the customizable parts of our Services.  The purpose of these cookies is to provide you with a more personal experience and to avoid you having to re-enter your preferences every time you visit our Services. The information collected through these cookies is not used for marketing purposes.

  1. Analytics and Performance Cookies

These cookies are used to collect information on how you use our Services, including information about the pages you visited, how long you visited and if you experienced any errors. The information gathered does not identify any individual visitor. We use this information to help us improve the quality of our Services, gather broad demographic information and monitor the level of activity on our Services.

  1. Targeted and Advertising Cookies

These cookies track your browsing habits to enable us to show advertising which is more likely to be of interest to you. These cookies use information about your browsing history to group you with other users who have similar interests. Based on that information, and with our permission, third-party advertisers can place cookies to enable them to show adverts that we think will be relevant to your interest while you are on third-party websites.

You can disable cookies that remember your browsing habits and target advertising at you by visiting http://www.youronlinechoices.com/uk/your-ad-choices. If you choose to remove targeted or advertising cookies, you will still receive adverts, but they may not be relevant to you. Even if you do choose to remove cookies from the companies listed at the above link, not all companies that serve online behavioral advertising are included in this list, so you may still receive some cookies and tailored adverts from companies that are not listed.

  1. Social Media Cookies

These cookies are used when you share information using a social media sharing button or “like” button on our Services or you link your account or engage with our content or through a social networking website such as Facebook, Twitter or LinkedIn.
