Travel Documentation Policy

Each passenger shall be responsible for obtaining all necessary travel documents (passport, visa, tourist card, immunization certificate and any other documents as required) and for complying with the laws of each country from, through or to which he/she/them receives transportation. Please visit the below website at www.bahamas.gov.bs.

Digital Customs Form

Passengers traveling to The Bahamas must download the Exempt app. Exempt is used in lieu of the paper customs declaration form and makes Customs declaration simple for all returning residents and visitors to the Bahamas and saves time during the Customs declaration process. Paper immigration may still be required at some Out Islands port of entry.

Check-in Time

Passengers must check-in no later than 30 minutes prior to departure.

Baggage

Each passenger is allowed 50 lbs. of luggage. Excess baggage beyond 50 lbs. will be charged a fee of $1.50 per pound and is not guaranteed to make the flight.

If you anticipate having excess baggage, please contact our Reservation Team at reservations@blade.com a minimum of 48 hours in advance to discuss your options. Please note that all items, including any items that fly unaccompanied or passenger excess luggage, are subject to duty and must have receipts and invoices for all items contained within. Passengers are responsible for payment of duty, VAT and any other applicable fees.

Cancellation Policies

  • More than twenty-four (24) hours prior to scheduled departure: You may cancel your flight reservation and receive BLADE Credits equal to the value of your order minus a cancellation fee of $125 per seat.
  • Less than twenty-four (24) hours prior to scheduled departure: No cancellations allowed. Any cancellation will result in a full forfeiture of the value of your entire order.
  • Weather Cancellation: In the event of cancellation due to weather or other covered reasons, you will receive BLADE Credits equal to the value of your entire order.

Change Policies

  • More than twenty-four (24) hours prior to scheduled departure: You may change your flight reservation for a change fee of $125 per seat.
  • Less than twenty-four (24) hours prior to scheduled departure: No changes allowed.

Flight Cancellation/Weather Insurance

You may purchase Cancellation/Weather Insurance as an add-on for select flights. Without Flight Cancellation/Weather Insurance, you will only receive BLADE Credits. With Flight Cancellation/Weather Insurance, in the event of a cancellation due to weather or other covered reasons, you may elect to receive a credit card refund rather than BLADE Credits (which is standard policy).

Flight Cancellation/Weather Insurance:

  • Is non-refundable;
  • Includes a refund of your entire fare, taxes, and upgrades (excluding the Flight Cancellation/Weather Insurance upgrade);
  • Waives any applicable cancellation fee;
  • Is not available for flights or seats purchased with BLADE Credits or gift cards; and
  • Is only available at the time you purchase your flight and cannot be added afterward.

Pet Policy

Pets under 25 lbs. fly free and can sit with you for the duration of the flight. Pets over 25 lbs. will be charged $1.50 for each pound over. The “per pound” pet charge will include the crate’s weight or “carrier”.

Passengers must have the proper pet permitting as required by the Bahamas Government. Please contact the Reservation Team at reservations@blade.com a minimum of 48 hours in advance to confirm that there is space available on your flight for your pet. Please note that while in our lobby, all pets must remain on their leash.

BLADE reserves the right to charge a deposit hold of $250 to all Passengers traveling with pets. BLADE reserves the right to charge each passenger a cleaning fee for transportation of service animals or pets if such costs are imposed on our aircraft operators due to additional maintenance caused by service animals or pets during the flight.
