The Race

The layout of the Historic Grand Prix of Monaco is identical to that of Formula 1. The circuit has 18 bends and stretches the length of Monaco. From Place du Casino to Port Hercule, via the swimming pool and the Rascasse bend, the circuit takes in some of Monaco's most emblematic landmarks.

Races are organized into 8 series.

A2 Series - Front-engined Grand Prix cars built before 1961

A1 Series - Pre-war Grand Prix cars and Voiturettes

B Series - Rear-engined Grand Prix cars, 1500, F1 (1961 - 1965) and F2 (1956 - 1960)

D Series - F1 3L Grand Prix cars (1966 - 1972)

E Series - F1 3L Grand Prix cars (1973 - 1976)

C Series - Front-engined sports cars (1952 - 1957)

Series F - F1 3L Grand Prix cars (1977 - 1980)

G Series - F1 3L Grand Prix cars (1981 - 1985)

As with the Formula 1 GP, pole position is crucial on this narrow circuit. Qualifying on Saturday is the key to Sunday's races.

How to get to the Monaco Historic Grand Prix 2024?

Getting to the Monaco Historic Grand Prix is no easy task. However, there are several ways to get there:

By train: the TER line, which serves the towns of Cannes, Antibes and Nice to reach the Principality, is the most accessible way for visitors. However, trains are crowded and you'll need to be patient to get on...

By car: Possible, but not recommended. The few parking spaces available in Monaco are taken by storm in the early hours of each day. It will be virtually impossible to park in Monaco during the Historic Grand Prix.

By taxi: Inevitably more expensive than the train, a cab is ideal if you want to get to the historic Monaco Grand Prix without being crammed into a train. However, you'll need to be patient, as the journey will be long: allow around 1h30 during rush hour to reach the Principality.

By helicopter: BLADE offers exclusive transport to the historic Monaco Grand Prix, with 7-minute flights between Nice airport and Monaco heliport. A chauffeur service is available (included in the price of your ticket) to take you as close as possible to your final destination in Monaco.

The best places to watch the Historic Monaco Grand Prix 2024

The grandstands remain the best place to watch the race. And you'll be spoilt for choice: from the Saint-Dévote bend to the Carré d'Or in front of the Casino, from the Quai Albert 1er to the Piscine stands, you'll be able to experience the races at close quarters, with the fervor of the public, as close as possible to the cars.

From a terrace, hotel or yacht, you can watch the races in optimal conditions. The terraces of the buildings bordering the circuit or the yachts docked at Port Hercule are often reserved for business events.

Finally, the Carré d'or hotels (Hotel de Paris Monte-Carlo and Hotel Hermitage Monte-Carlo) also offer splendid views from their balconies.

Book your helicopter flight to the Historic Monaco Grand Prix

Getting to the historic Monaco Grand Prix can be a daunting task, given the large number of spectators involved.

If you want to spend as little time as possible in transit, it's a good idea to book a helicopter flight as soon as you arrive at Nice airport.
