Frequently asked
questions
How safe are Blade helicopters?
For Cannes, Blade operates under the strict regulatory oversight of the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA). All Blade pilots are fully licensed under EASA and bring extensive experience flying in the unique terrain, airspace, and weather conditions of Southern France.
Blade's modern fleet is maintained by certified technicians and undergoes rigorous pre-flight inspections. If weather conditions are not favorable, flights will be delayed or canceled to protect passengers and crew.
How long is the helicopter flight?
Approximately 7 minutes between Nice and Cannes.
Are hotel transfers from the Cannes helipad included?
Yes, if your hotel is in the city center. Once you land at the Hélistation de Cannes (also known as the Quai du Large Helipad), a complimentary car service will take you directly to your hotel. A BLADE team member will confirm if your hotel is applicable for ground transportation.
Where does Blade pick up passengers at Nice Airport?
Blade greeters meet you in baggage claim and escort you to the Blade check-in desks in Terminals 1 or 2 (depending on your arrival terminal). From there, you can wait in EDO's lounge for refreshments before a Blade van shuttles you to the helicopter terminal.
Are there restrictions on flight times?
Yes. Flights are subject to French Aviation Authority regulations and must operate within daylight hours — no flights before sunrise or after sunset.
What if my flight into Nice is delayed?
Blade monitors your arrival time and adjusts your chartered helicopter accordingly. If your flight is delayed past 7:30pm, French Aviation Laws prevent helicopter departures — Blade will arrange ground transportation on your behalf. Proceed to the Blade check-in desk for details.
Do I need to book my helicopter ride separately?
No. Your helicopter ride is scheduled on your behalf following completion of this form. If your arrival plans change, your Blade ride is updated automatically.
